Great Blue Heron standing on the Bank

Great Blue Herons are diligent birds. They stand so still for what seems like hours stalking their prey. I photographed this one on the banks of the dike at Billy Frank Jr Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in Olympia, WA. I love the light illuminating the beak on this heron.
